Mission of the Coalition
Mission of the Coalition
To cooperate with one another to successfully encourage, plan for, and implement watershed activities within the North Raccoon River watershed.
The Coalition's chief goal is to reduce flood risk for everyone in the watershed by reducing the quantity of water during peak flow events.
The activities of the Coalition complement and support the Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy, improving the quality of water in the river.
The Coalition helps everyone in the watershed work together on common goals. We all live here.
Flooding affects urban and rural residents alike, making a more resilient community an important goal of the Coalition.
